Mandate

The Grants and Review Board (GRB), which was established in 1986 by His Highness the Aga Khan in the Constitution of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims, was formed to ensure compliance with proper standards of financial discipline, accountability and cost and management effectiveness by institutions which receive support from His Highness or the Jamat. As per the Constitution, the aims and objectives of the Grants and Review Board shall be to:

evaluate budgeted expenditures against stated objectives and strategies;
ensure the proper application of resources and compliance with systems and procedures; and
monitor the disbursement of funds and carry out periodic financial, management and social audits.

Our Team

GRB has a diverse,

multi-skilled, professional pool of volunteers located in 21 National jurisdictions.

GRB volunteers undertake

comprehensive management, construction, and social audit training programmes.

The training programmes offer a mix of theory and hands-on practical training with an emphasis on implementing best practice within the Jamati Institutions and AKDN agencies.

Our volunteers offer

an extensive range of industry and professional experience in various domains including information technology, human resources, financial services, etc.

Subject Matter Experts (SME)

are leveraged on assignments to provide in-depth knowledge on a particular discipline or field of study.
